PENTAGON Prepares for 2019 World Tour

South Korean boy group PENTAGON gears up for their "PRISM" world tour, taking them to 23 countries across Asia as well as North and South America.

After wrapping up Seoul concerts, the boys will perform next in Jakarta, at The Kasablanka Hall, on August 31. They will then fly to Toronto, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Jose to hold shows in the first half of September. Right after that, PENTAGON will head to the south to San Paulo, Monterrey, and Mexico City in the last half of the month.

Following that are October performances in Taipei and Hong Kong, and they will hold one show in November at The Star Theatre in Singapore.

The "PRISM" world tour announcement came after the release of PENTAGON'S eighth extended play "Genie:us" on March 27 with the title track entitled "Sha La La."

Recently, the band is reported to make a comeback on July 17 with their ninth extended play "Sum(:mer)" without Yan An due to health issues.

PENTAGON is originally a ten-member South Korean boy group under Cube Entertainment, formed in 2016 through Mnet's reality show "Pentagon Maker." The group made their official debut on October 10, 2016. Member E-Dawn left the group and company on November 24, 2018.

On the same day of their debut, they released their first extended play titled "Pentagon" consisting of seven tracks including the lead single "Gorilla." On December 6, PENTAGON held their first solo concert called "Pentagon Mini Concert Tentastic Vol. 1" at the Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul. The tickets were sold out within just eight minutes.

The group ended 2016 being in ninth place on "Billboard's 10 Best New K-Pop Groups in 2016." On March 29, 2017, the boys launched their first Japanese EP "Gorilla." They then had their second concert for three days, from June 10 to 12, at Shinhan Card Fan Live Hall in Seoul, which was called "Tentastic Vol. 2."

PENTAGON made their Japanese debut in February 2019 with the single "Cosmo." The idols had their first Japan Zepp tour "Dear Cosmo" in Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. After the announcement of "PRISM" world tour, the K-pop idol group represented South Korea in an annual star of Asia in Kazakhstan on June 16.
