SORI Implies That She May Soon Leave K-Pop Industry

Sori seemed to tell fans about her departure in the music industry.

On July 10, the K-Pop idol uploaded a video on her official Twitter account, containing a message to Sweetnotes, her fan club's name. Sori talked about her career and the obstacles surrounding it at present. She mentioned that she feels like she doesn't have enough strength to take another step forward.

In addition, the singer even said that the budget for the music video of her latest single "I AM Not Alone" was also tight. What broke the fans' heart more is when Sori added that "I Am Not Alone" might be her last single, hinting that she may not continue releasing songs in the future.

Sori has been in the K-Pop industry since 2016. She debuted as a member of the South Korean duo CocoSori on January 4, with the track "Dark Circle." On May 6, Sori auditioned and became a member of a multinational project girl group Real Girls Project, which then debuted on August 24 with the single "Dream."

The songstress, together with her fellow members Heo Young Joo, Lee Ye Eun, and Yukika Teramoto represented Mol Entertainment in JTBC's reality television show "Mix Nine." On the final segment, Sori was included in the final line-up of a female group, which competed and lost against a group of boys for the chance to make a debut. During that time, Sori released the song "To Myself" on November 5.

On July 31, 2018, Sori announced that she would be debuting as a solo artist through her official YouTube channel. She made her debut on September 4 with the single "Touch" featuring the South Korean rapper Basick. The song took the number 49 spot on the Gaon Album Chart. On November 14, the idol made her Japanese debut with the Japanese version of "Touch."

On December 26, Sori released another single, titled "I'm Ready" in collaboration with Jaehyun. On March 6, 2019, CocoSori disbanded, and this July 10, Sori unveiled her third single that features American record producer Folded Dragons, entitled "I Am Not Alone."
