TWICE to Become the First K-pop Girl Group to Produce Original YouTube Series

On Tuesday, August 20, the agency giant JYP Entertainment confirmed a statement that the group will collaborate with YouTube to produce their own original series, which will also feature their story of success as the now-globally recognized K-pop group.

"Together with YouTube, we are producing new original content starring TWICE," JYPE said.

This YouTube Original special content will be accessed by premium subscribers and will tell TWICE's journey since their debut in 2015. The docu-series will also put emphasis on the girl group's hard work through their several years in the realm as they continuously flourish via in-depth interviews.

"It is the first time a Korean girl group has become the main character of a YouTube Original program. (Viewers) can see behind-the-scenes stories disclosed by TWICE members who have always shown up bright and cheerful," JYP said.

"From their debut to now, for four years, the sweat, tears, and hidden efforts that the members had to shed in order to grow, and the feelings that they felt during this process, will be revealed. It will be a big present for the fans as it is a very different type of content from what TWICE usually releases," the agency went on.

The Nation's Girl Group just recently held concerts in nine cities, including Mexico, Bangkok, Philippines, Bangkok, Seoul, and many more, in accordance with their world tour. Their next stop will be in Hokkaido, Japan this coming October.

Meanwhile, TWICE will be the recipient of the Hallyu Culture Grand Prize, or the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the Newsis Hallyu Expo 2019 on Friday, August 23, 2019. This accolade is due to the group's impact and attainments in Japan and the USA.

"Last month, TWICE released the 4th single "Happy Happy" and single 5th album "Breakthrough", which won the Japan Records Association's Platinum Record Certification. This honor is given only to works with more than 250,000 shipments in Japan," Newsis stated.

"TWICE has set a record of 8 consecutive platinum achievements from Japan's debut best album #TWICE released in June 2017 to these two singles," the award-giving body added.
