RED VELVET Ranks First on iTunes Charts Across the Globe with Latest Album

The South Korean girl group that is known for its "dual concept" has recently released the second entry of their "The ReVe Festival" trilogy titled "The ReVe Festival: Day 2 on August 20 this year, 2019. Right after it has been made public, the extended play grabbed the first spot on iTunes album charts in 36 different countries all over the world, such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, El Salvador, Peru, Chile, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Greece, France, Sweden, Slovenia, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Portugal, and Turkey. Aside from that, RED VELVET's album also topped in Russia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Australia, United Arab Emirates, India, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines.


Moreover, the group's seventh EP was number one in Synnara Record, Kyobo Bookstore, and Aladin's physical sales charts, with the lead single "Umpah Umpah" taking the first place on major real-time charts on music sites like Genie, Naver, Mnet, Bugs, Olleh Music, and Soribada, as of 9 a.m. KST.

With the group's latest album "The ReVe Festival: Day 2" ranking first on the US iTunes chart, together with their previous EP "The ReVe Festival: Day 1" that attained the same achievement, RED VELVET has been one of the girl groups to reach number one on the iTunes Album chart in the United States. And because the girls have done it more than once within one year, the group now joins the famous foreign artists, The Pussycat Dolls and Destiny's Child, to obtain such accomplishment.

Meanwhile, the title track of "The ReVe Festival: Day 2" which is entitled "Umpah Umpah" has been launched on the same day the album was unveiled, along with the music video of the track. As of August 21 at 10 p.m. KST, the MV has reached more than 10 million views already, which is just two days after its release. Also, the MV is trending in numerous countries.
