This famous Korean girl group has once again made it to the top. The music video of Black Pink's Kill this Love has reached a total of 550 million views on YouTube. Since April 5 at 12:00 AM KST, it is about 140 days and 16 hours by the time it was released.
Aside from this record, the Korean girl group also reached approximately 550 million views with their song "DDU DU DDU DU" which was achieved after 185 days. Also, it includes their song "As if I's Your Last" and "BOOMBAYAH" which has four music videos with a total of 550 million views over YouTube.
Their latest award is the RIAA Gold Certification for their song "DDU DU DDU DU" which was announced that they are the first Korean girl group to receive such award. One permanent digital download is counted as one unit, and it needs to first have 500,000 units for gold certification. Aside from them, PSY was also the first Korean artist to receive and achieve this milestone when his "Gangnam Style" single hit the 500,000 units. Also, the Korean boy group BTS was also awarded to be certified gold with their remix of "MIC Drop." And now the first Korean girl group to receive this kind of achievement is none other than "Black Pink".
The girl group debuted last August 8, 2016, with their first-ever single album Square One that spawned "Whistle" as their first number one song in South Korea as well as "Boombayah" as their first-ever number one hit on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart. It set the record for the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. They were also hailed at the 31st Golden Disc Awards and the 26th Seoul Music Awards as the New Artist of the Year and has the highest-charting female K-pop act on Billboard Hot 100.
