Sulli could be the second female lead of the Netflix series "Persona," following IU.
Last time, directors Lee Kyung Mi, Jeon Go Woon, Lim Pil Sung, and Kim Jong Kwan teamed up with Netflix to present a four-part short film series, entitled "Persona." The show starred Korean singer/actress IU as the main character. Each segment tells four different stories, which are inspired by IU and directed by four different directors. The first series is called "Love Set," second is "Collector," third is "Kiss Burn," and the fourth is "Walking at Night."
The "Persona" series is probably to have a second set of succession, and this time singer/actress Sulli will take the female lead and will be the source of inspiration. If ever this project pushes forward, this will be Sulli's first film after two years, since her latest movie titled "Real," in 2017.
Sulli made her film acting debut in 2014 through a coming-of-the-age movie called "Fashion King," where she played the lead role as Kwak Eun Jin, a high school student who has a crush on her schoolmate named Woo Ki Myung, who is played by Joo Won. She tries to change her style to be able to catch his attention. The film is an adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name and was released on November 6, 2014.
Meanwhile, in "Real" Sulli played the role of Song Yoo Hwa, a therapist, and lover of Jang Tae Young, who is portrayed by Kim Soo Hyun. The film is based on a character from Manhwa webtoons and is launched on June 28, 2017. The movie tells the story of a successful problem solver and an owner of a large casino who is disturbed by his different personalities.
Before her acting career, Sulli is already famous to many people as she is a former member of girl group f(x) under SM Entertainment. The group debuted on September 5, 2009, with the single "La Cha Ta." Sulli left the group in August 2015 after a year of hiatus duet to continuous malicious comments about her.
On November 9, 2018, Sulli was featured in Dean's track, titled "Dayfly," marking Sulli's first release after three years since she parted ways with former group f(x). Then on June 29 of this year, 2019, Sulli made her solo debut with the single album "Goblin."
