The poster doesn't say much about the duo's comeback but reveals that they would launch new music this September. And this new album will mark the artists' first music release after almost two years and two months, since their last album in July 2017.
Akdong Musician was on hiatus for a long time due to member Chanhyuk's enlistment in the military, which started on September 18, 2017. As a result, Suhyun focused on her solo activities until May this year, as Chanhyuk has finally completed his mandatory service on May 29 and now they are reunited.
Chanhyuk served in the Korean Marines. During his service, his self-written song titled "Marine Triumph" was chosen to represent the Marine Corps. He also moved to high ranks and became a sergeant.
Immediately after Chanhyuk discharged, he told the reporters, "I plan to focus on producing music after traveling overseas with my father for a month. I will give my best to release a new album after my trip." He added, "Suhyun grown into an adult while I was in the military, so I think a more mature and full album will be created. I really want to launch a new song as soon as possible."
Chanhyuk stated further, "I missed my fans and the stage. Let's get to work without stopping. Just tell me what you like. I will do it all."
The duo then made their first appearance together after hiatus on Knowing Bros, together with Jeon Somi, which aired on June 8 but filming happened a day after Chanhyuk's dismissal.
Akdong Musician made up of the siblings Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun, gained their popularity when they participated in the second season of reality television competition show called "K-pop Star" in August 2012.
