A JGT Entertainment representative relayed further details about this unfortunate news to MBN Star, saying, "Johyun suffered from acute enteritis and went to the hospital. She completed tests and is currently resting. There are no issues regarding her future schedule."
The member was supposed to film KBS N Sports' Throne e Game, but the schedule was canceled because of her hospitalization.
In July this year, Johyun found herself as the subject of public glare just by cosplaying as the League of Legends character Ahri for the OGN's "Game Dolympic 2019: Golden Card".
Just a little refreshment: Ahri is a nine-tailed fox clad in a red and white dress and boots. This is the main character's main clothing, whilst Johyun chose to wear the KDA costume, which is comprised of a black and white catsuit and a thigh-high stocking.
Many people believed that what the female idol wore was too provocative, while others argued that she was simply cosplaying an e-game character at a gaming event. Meaning, what she did was appropriate.
In an interview following this, Johyun revealed her reactions to this certain issue and the reason why she chose Ahri to cosplay.
"It was my first time trying cosplay and because my fans liked it and cheered me on a lot by saying that I looked cool, I think I had a good time," she shared.
She added that OGN was the one that prepared her costume.
"When I first started playing League of Legends, I played the character of Ahri, so I wanted to try [dressing up] as her. That's why I wrote that on my pre-show questionnaire," she said.
Due to the mean remarks online that were hurled at her, Johyun revealed that she cried in her dressing room.
"I was curious to see how my photos from the red carpet came out, so I asked my manager for my phone and searched for myself. That's how I ended up seeing people's comments. Isn't it human to be upset when you hear people say bad things? But I went to the bathroom and successfully fixed [my makeup] before filming," she recalled.
She also, later on, aired her thoughts on her Instagram through the Stories. She did not blame anyone or whoever, but she simply wished everyone to just see her cosplay as it was and nothing beyond it.
"Everyone thinks differently about things, and rather than blame anyone, I just posted that message on social media hoping that people would see [my cosplay] for what it was, as an accurate portrayal of a game character," Johyun said.
