The seven ladies sported flamboyant outfits and vibrant sceneries in the music video before becoming wicked-looking at the latter part. Devil was published on the music streaming site YouTube on September 6, Friday.
Basing it on the official video and the lyrics, the song indicates finally not holding back against a person who keeps pushing you to your limit. Simply, it's about a person who provokes you to bring out your inner devil. The girls can be seen having petty fights and kept on giving retributions to one another until the initially childish quarrels turned quite serious.
Nearing the climax of the music video, the septet suddenly appeared dressed in dark-themed outfits. They then showcased their fierce choreography, matched with their devilish facial expressions. The bonus part? CLC's rapper Ye Eun participated in penning the lyrics for this song.
Suffice it to say that CLC is gaining a wider audience domestically and internationally. Their previous comebacks, Me and No, did well on the charts not just in their homeland but also overseas.
In an interview with Billboard earlier, they shared that they plan to release more music this year.
"We said during our promotions for "No" that in 2019 we're going to keep releasing music without resting, that's what we want to do; we don't want to keep our fans waiting and we don't want to rest for a long time anymore. And also, I think all of us want to go to the U.S., if someone wants to invite us we'd be very happy to go! But we're not sure how many fans we have in the U.S. but we hope they would welcome us if we actually go there. We also want to go around the world to meet our fans," the group said.
"For CLC too, compared to a lot of other groups, we didn't have a lot of opportunities to go overseas and we've never been to the U.S. either. The U.S. has always kind of been our holy grail place -- like "hallelujah!" if we could go -- so if we can go to that part of the market, that would be a really big achievement for us," they went on.
Of course, they wouldn't let the discussion end without expressing their sincerest gratitude to their fans.
"For all international fans, and really everyone, we'd just like to say thank you for always supporting CLC... I think there's a lot to look forward to for "Me," but also 2019 for CLC. We're planning a lot and we're hoping we can do a lot. We're also hoping we can go overseas to meet all our international fans, and I hope you stay updated about us all the time," they shared.
