Ailee Shares Her New Label

Ailee was previously signed under YMC Entertainment, but after her contract ended in February, she decided to go independent.

In her Instagram post, Ailee detailed both in Korean and English, "I wish to make a fresh start with an open mind and soul with my new home 'Rocket3ENT'! Similar to the meaning of Rocket3, I will give my best and work my hardest to extend and ascend like a rocket worldwide and to make you all proud through our arts, artists and you the people who are eager to take this next step in the thrilling new chapter of my life! Please keep interested in Rocket3's many different platforms in the future as well!"

She also mentioned that the company's official website had broken down on account of too much traffic and listed down Rocket3's social media platforms that fans can follow.

Ailee's last album under YMC is "butterFLY," released on July 2, 2019, with the title track "Room Shaker." Though it was her long-awaited comeback, it was not one of the best times for her as her promotions for the album didn't go well. Ailee didn't appear in any music show stages as they were canceled, according to one broadcast representative. Because of this, fans were left wondering what might be the reason, with some of them blaming YMC while others say various entertainment companies blacklisted the singer.

Nevertheless, Ailee carried out her activities through the one-man company since parting ways with YMC. She met her fans through different busking events, guerrilla concerts, and social media.

Ailee debuted in 2012 with the single "Heaven" and quickly rose to eventually becoming one of Korea's top female vocalists. Just one month after her debut, she received two awards at the Cyworld Music Awards: "Rookie of the Month" and "Song of the Month." Billboard even commented that she could convey the deeper experiences when one is in love.

She earned more popularity when she participated in KBS's "Immortal Songs 2" in 2012 and 2014. She won two rounds in the show, singing JYP's debut song "Don't Leave Me" and Lee Seung Chul's "Fate." Also, her cover of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" in the competition, though she lost, gave lasting impressions to the public.

Not only had she become famous in Korea, but also in Japan. She made her Japanese debut in 2013 with "Heaven" under Warner Music Japan.

The best of luck to Ailee on her future activities with Rocket3 Entertainment.
