Xportsnews reported that according to an official from Jun Hyosung's side, the contract between the singer and her former company Tommy & Partners Entertainment has come to an end. Following this, Jun Hyosung is said to have built her independent label called JHS Entertainment this month and is carrying on with her activities through her newly established agency.

One of her activities is preparing for her new digital single entitled "Starlight." Ahead of the news about her new independent label, Jun Hyosung surprised her fans with a teaser image for her upcoming track that she uploaded on her official SNS account at midnight KST. In the photo, one can see a speaker, a microphone, and a curtain on one corner, along with the title and date when the song will be out. It will be released on November 21 at 6 pm KST.

The single, which will be launched on the 21st of this month, is the idol's way to celebrate her 10th anniversary being in the entertainment industry since she debuted as a Secret member in 2009 under TS Entertainment. Also, this song will be her first release since leaving Tommy & Partners Entertainment and starting her label.

Furthermore, based on the hashtag "#ForSUPERSTAR," Jun Hyosung's new single is dedicated to her fans, who are called SUPERSTAR. This past August, Jun Hyosung and TS Entertainment have finally agreed on an agreement concerning their long-drawn feud over the artist's exclusive contract, which was considered invalid. The legal disputes between them started way back in February 2018. Although the court ruled in favor of Jun Hyosung, the company plans to file a separate lawsuit against the singer as they believe she should be held responsible for the causes that lead to the contract termination and their false statements.

Jun Hyosung joined Tommy & Partners Entertainment in October 2018. She did not release any songs during this time, but she did appear in television shows like Video Star. "Starlight" will be her first song after more than three years since her second extended play titled "Colored" was revealed in March 2016. The songstress had their solo debut in May 2014 with the album called "Top Secret." It consists of three songs titled "You Don't Know Women," "I Hate The Night," and "Goodnight Kiss," which is the lead single of her debut album.
