The ace of the New York Mets pitching staff, Matt Havey, was riding an elevator with supermodel, Anne Vyalitsyna, earlier in March. He tweeted at her about about the elevator ride and it brought the two beautiful people together for a date.

A source tells US Weekly, Harvey and Vyalitsyna are dating, and his tweet on May 6 instigated their now-blossoming relationship.

The source reveals to US Weekly that shortly after he sent the tweet, Harvey scored the phone number of the leggy 26-year-old Vyalitsyna, and off they went on dates and a more formal courtship. 

After meeting during a New York Rangers hockey game on May 6, they shared a ride down in the elevator together after the game. Afterwards, Harvey sent out the now-famous love tweet. 

Anne Vyalitsyna saw the tweet and was persuaded to provide Harvey her phone number. He obviously called (she is a supermodel). 

After getting Vyalitsyna's phone number, the two have been exclusive despite their hectic schedules. 

But even after hooking up via Twitter, they're determined to keep things slow and stress free.

Vyalitsyna, who has previously dated Adam Levine, True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, and DJ/Producer Calvin Harris, has a busy shooting schedule, and Harvey is in the midst of a fantastic season anchoring the Mets' pitching staff.

But the pair did find time to recently have dinner, where they were spotted at New York City restaurant, Willow Road, and--like their chance encounter before--they were snapped together during the Rangers game on May 23. 

Anne is seen resting her head against Harvey's chest in that latter photo, with Matt gingerly kissing her forehead. 

It's a love match, Twitter style, and it just goes to show you that even superstar baseball players and supermodels can use social media to hook up. Social media dating isn't just for the plebes.
