Yonhap News reported that the former BIGBANG member, Seungri, will enlist on March 9.
On March 5, a source stated that the former K-pop idol will be entering the military on Monday, and will be serving the 6th Infantry Recruit Training Center in Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province.
Meanwhile, the Military Manpower Administration and other high-security authorities in South Korea announced that they cannot confirm the enlistment.
It was on January 20, when Seungri was charged without getting arrested for Prostitution Services, and violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.
Seungri was initially to be enlisted as a full duty soldier on March 25, 2019, but the event was postponed since the 'Burning Sun' scandal hit the media and that he needed to cooperate with the authorities for their investigation.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office charged the former BIGBANG member Seungri, along with Yang Hyun Suk and nine other people, who were involved in the aforementioned scandal without being detained.
Choi Jong Hun joining the others is guilty of attempted bribery. The prosecutor's office asked for a summary judgment that is made by the court without having a full hearing for the former radio DJ and actor Jung Joon Young and four others.
Jung Joon Young was charged with involvement in prostitution activities, while the others were charged with embezzlement from the Yuri Holdings. Yang Han Suk's case was separated and was moved to the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office.
The Burning Sun scandal is a controversial scandal in Seoul Korea wherein several Korean celebrities are involved, such as Seungri of BIGBANG, Yong Jun-Hyung of Highlight, Choi Jong-hoon of F.T. Island, and Lee Jong-hyun of CNBLUE.
Recently, an employee from YG Entertainment made a comment through an office application about Seungri not getting jailed for what he has done.
The office community 'Blind' application is used by the employee to post things such as community questions. This application will have to authenticate your personal information like company email before posting on a comment thread, but will not be showing your name and the company you are working for once you have completed all the steps before commenting.
An employee posted a question using the app, and wrote, "Tell me about the funniest things in your company life or work," to which an anonymous YG employee responded, "Seungri not getting detained."
Because of this anonymous comment, other people are commenting and checking out whether the person who posted the comment is still alive considering that the talent agency is dangerous referring to YG Entertainment.
Others followed the comment by saying, "He is above the president. What else are they looking for? We all know that this is a comedy and that this person is trash."
