"Ask Us Anything" latest episode featured Park Shin Hye where she demonstrated some fun acting tricks. KPOP Idol Heechul was not able to escape the dramatic skills of the K-Drama actress when she did the fake-slap technique. He got literally struck by the acting prowess, Shin Hye.
The March 7 broadcast of "Ask Us Anything" by the JBTC variety show welcomed the drama actress together with the upcoming movie "Call" co-stars' Kim Sung Ryung and Jeon Jong Seo. She shared some of her experiences looking back when she first debuted with "Stairway to Heaven," an SBS classic in 2003. Looking back, she revealed that she was slapped for 30 times by Lee Hwi Hyang, one of the casts.
She then explained that the production wanted to take several angles for such a specific scene, thus ended up accumulating numerous slapping. He said Lee Hwi Hyang is apologetic ever since. However, she did not feel sad about such an event; thus consider those moments as fun times.
Super Junior's Kim Heechul got curious
He asked, "Do actors slap each other on set these days?" Park Shin Hye responded that nowadays, such scenes are mostly false. The digital contribution such as sound effects and video editing would fix it. Some acting movements are applied to make the scenes convincing for the viewers.
Fake-slapping Demonstration
Then, to further demonstrate what Park Shin Hye was trying to say; Heechul joined her to learn such a fake-slapping trick. She said, "If I throw my hair forward at the same time, it looks even more real."
So, the mock fight went on where Shin Hye acted as if she slapped him with all her might. The KPOP idol even rode with the moment and pretended to let go of his hat. The entire audiences, as well as the cast, were in awe; surely felt it was realistic. Heechul looked like he has the potential to act over those sorts of scenes; who knows.
Park Shin Hye's Struggles as a debut artist
Apart from the funny moments at the variety show, the drama actress shared her struggles upon reaching her spotlight as a star. She even mentioned that it was not her ambition to become a celebrity; contrary to what most actors and actresses' dreams as kids. She wanted to be a police officer rather.
Her family supported her, which her father drove a taxi and sold insurance just to sustain a living in Seoul while she was still a budding actress. Since then, her career growth has evolved thus making her one of the most admired actresses to date in South Korea.
Her upcoming motion picture, "Call" with co-stars' Kim Sung Ryung and Jeon Jong Seo is a thriller re-make film that is set to overwhelm cinemas this month. Park Shin Hye's fake-slap with Super Junior Heechul might be a minor scene compared to what she has delivered to this upcoming movie.
