A complaint about a man passing out in a restroom of a tower located in Seoul's Songpa District was filed on the evening of March 31, according to police. Cops arrived and discovered a plastic bag, some syringes, and a liquid-filled container. He was taken into police custody for a drug check after verifying that the guy is Wheesung, and tested negatively.

Wheesung has been sent home after authorities came to the conclusion that he was taking anesthetics not listed as illicit drugs and the investigation will begin on a later date.

Anesthetic is a diverse category of medications used in pain control. These should be given to block individual pain receptors (local anesthesia) or to make a patient unconscious so that surgical procedures can be performed (general anesthesia).

An anesthetic is a drug that is used to cause anesthesia - in other words, leading to a temporary loss of sensation or consciousness.

The artist is reportedly under investigation for allegations of alleged criminal use of the drug propofol, as announced last week.

Wheesung Facing Investigation Again For Suspected Drug Use

On March 26, Chosun Ilbo revealed that a source from an enforcement agency said, "We recently arrested a drug dealer who said that Wheesung had also used a significant amount of propofol, and we also obtained proof of that."

Police said Wheesung was administering a relatively large quantity of substance. It's said they are going to pursue the singer's arrest warrant fast.

Wheesung was also prosecuted in 2013, during his army service, on charges of propofol use. He was accused of using the medication frequently in a variety of locations which included a dermatology clinic from 2011 to early 2013.

Wheesung said he took the medication because of a herniated disk in his spine as well as partial hair loss. He was free of the allegations on July 10, 2013.

He was again embroiled in a controversy last April 2019 over suspected drug use.

TV personality Amy said he always took propofol with her and asked her to shoulder the blame. She said he also intended to take her private videos to use as threats.

Later, Wheesung shared a recording of a phone conversation with Amy where she acknowledged that this was a lie, and she also shared a post on her Instagram account to apologize and clarify that her comments were due to misunderstanding.

See the full statement below.

"The day I was questioned by the cops a friend of mine and Wheesung knocked on my door at the time and told me the story when I was in the threatening situation. It was something that I was expected to miss and I had no time to think otherwise.

Afterwards, I figured out that Wheesung did not know much about this either and he was not at all connected to it.

The misunderstandings stacked up and a lot of time progressed and I guess my fear ended up hitting a point where I couldn't ignore it anymore.

I felt even more sorry for Wheesung, who assured me in our conversation that I was a survivor and a friend of mine too."

Amy apologized and expressed that she is going to try and set this behind her and worry about herself.
