Junsu Faces Backlash After Posting Pictures of his $7.2 Million House + Netizens Criticize JYJ Members

As the world is in the middle of a health crisis, many people are struggling as it is not just targeting our bodies but our economies as well. This could be one of the reasons why many netizens felt offended and enraged after K-pop star Kim Junsu uploaded a snapshot view from his luxurious apartment on April 21.

Junsu is JYJ's youngest member, known to reside on the 44th floor of the Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul. He purchased an apartment costing over 7 million USD from the Signiel Residence, which is known for housing high-profile people, such as celebrities.

The photo that the celebrity posted on Instagram showed off Seoul's pretty skyline that he sees everyday from his multimillion-dollar estate. The photo was captioned with just a smiling face emoji. However, it hit the nerves of many people as it came off as "insensitive" and "tone-deaf" due to the current COVID-19 situation that is happening worldwide, not just in South Korea.

Junsu's post received a lot of hateful comments and criticisms. People are calling him out for showing off his lavish lifestyle during these trying times, where others might be financially struggling, or worse, becoming a victim of the virus. One commenter said that there are so many people who've got their lives completely ruined, but they have the time to post content, which was not admired by most.

Meanwhile, haters of the idol quickly jumped in the discussion, bringing up his previous scandals and how his fans continue to be "dumb" and "delusional" by funding his lifestyle. Some claim that he keeps fooling his supporters to maintain this type of lifestyle. Others see this as an invitation to attack Junsu and his fellow JYJ members openly.

Some of the comments include:

"These JYJ guys are 'so rich' but act so cheap."

"I dislike all the JYJ members now."

"A lot of money but they have no class."

There was also a comment that said, "One guy is showing off his luxurious home, one guy is scamming his fans with fan club fees higher than BTS, and one guy is embarrassing Koreans worldwide with his Corona prank." This particular statement is referring to Junsu, Park Yoochun, and Kim Jaejoong, respectively.

Junsu's post also garnered a flood of comments that once again brought up his past scandal with his previously owned Toscana Hotel in 2017.

"When are you going to pay your hotel employees?" A fan asked, which can be read in the comments section.

The idol encountered the controversy just days before his military enlistment as many of the hotel workers came forward with allegations about poor working conditions and mistreatment, which included delayed distribution of their salaries. The Toscana Hotel was previously owned by Junsu and managed by his family before he sold it for 21 million dollars to a real estate company just months before he enlisted.

Amidst all these criticisms and hatred, Junsu's fans came to his defense by saying that the haters are just overreacting to a simple picture.
