BTS member Jin, also known as Kim Seokjin, quietly joined relief efforts in Andong, South Korea, on Thursday. Andoing is one of the cities recently devastated by wildfires.
Jin was spotted volunteering at Gilan Middle School in Gilan-myeon, where he served meals and offered emotional support to residents affected by the disaster. The idol was dressed modestly in a black cap, mask, and gray apron to maintain anonymity while working alongside other volunteers to distribute food.
"I heard he's a famous celebrity, but to me, he appeared to be a kind and hardworking young man. Even amidst the other volunteers, he quietly focused on his work without seeking attention," a local resident said.
The meal service was organized by Theborn Korea under the leadership of chef Baek Jong-won. Since March 28, the initiative has been providing over 300 servings of food per meal to wildfire victims, firefighters, and volunteers.

Jin's act of kindness is part of broader relief efforts involving BTS members. Jungkook donated 1 billion won (approximately $750,000), V contributed 200 million won ($150,000), and RM, J-Hope, and Suga each donated 100 million won ($75,000) to support recovery initiatives.
South Korea is currently grappling with one of the worst wildfires in its history. The fires—which have been burning since March 21—have so far scorched more than 48,000 hectares (119,000 acres), resulting in the deaths of at least 31 people, including four firefighters and a helicopter pilot. The fires have displaced more than 37,000 residents, with thousands seeking refuge in temporary shelters. The hardest-hit areas include Uiseong, Andong, and Cheongsong, which have been declared special disaster zones. Strong winds and dry weather have fueled the fires, complicating containment efforts despite the deployment of over 1,600 firefighters and 242 helicopters.
The wildfires have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including the destruction of more than 6,000 structures, such as homes and cultural heritage sites. Among the losses are parts of Gounsa Temple in Uiseong County, a historic site dating back to the 7th century.
