Fans Reveal The Most Tortured K-pop Fandoms

While being a K-pop fan can be fun, it can also be very hard and challenging when you see your favorite band failing or being unfairly treated or have - heaven forbid - dissolved. There's a variety of reasons why people are "suffering" because of their stars, whether those are due to bad management, failure of comebacks, roster adjustments, controversy and allegations, and so on.

Several fan communities have struggled through every one of these than many, and fans have previously struck up a conversation on a forum about the most distressful things they've encountered while stanning their faves.

QUEENS (T-ARA)

Throughout the years, T-ARA itself has gone through many peaks and valleys, leaving fans feeling disappointed and concerned for their sake. They started well, but as they attempted to advertise in the U.S., everything appears to have gone sideways after roster changes and mistreatment.

They ended up losing the popularity they had established on in South Korea early on but eventually got their first triumph in five years with the last three existing members only then to depart promptly after that. Think of a band rollercoaster ride and fans alike.

MeUs (f(x))

f(x) is a band that many fans believe would never prosper as much as they would like to have due to bad management. From the lack of job opportunities for entertainment shows, the shortage of merch relative to several other SM Entertainment bands, to hardly any single live performances even after six years in the industry, to the absence of a fandom name for seven years, f(x) was poorly handled following their early success.

SOLBANGUL (SONAMOO)

Like several other business groups, SONAMOO started doing well in its first years, particularly between 2016-2017. Needless to say, for some instance, since 2018, TS Entertainment has provided them almost nothing to support, considering how many fans liked it.

Thus far this, two of the participants left, with only five remaining and supporters are uncertain on how long they would last.

LULLET (CHERRY BULLET)

Losing members of your favorite band has always been difficult, and three of the core members of Cherry Bullet have deserted following their debut, leaving seven members behind. Many fans seem to think their most recent return after waiting for nine months was mediocre, and they deserve so much better.

BLACKJACK (2NE1)

This one shouldn't come as any surprise. Seeing 2NE1 disband out of nowhere after the net present value they helped bring to YG Entertainment was, to say the very least, hard on both the members of the band and its fans.

MERRY GO ROUND (MOMOLAND)

MOMOLAND has long battled with chaos and controversy, and charges of systemic harassment and mismanagement by their agency, MLD Entertainment, notably with Yeonwoo, Taeha, and Daisy. It's yet another disappointment to devoted fans that the program to create the band, Finding MOMOLAND, was being manipulated.

BLINK (BLACKPINK)

BLACKPINK still has no glorious return in more than a year now, given how incredibly popular and skilled these women are, keeping fans with their shockingly limited record collection only to watch and listen over and over again as BLINKs eagerly anticipate more musical material.

To put things in context, they have just one more album to their title than PRISTIN - a band that dissolved with very limited discography itself a couple of years following their launch.

iKONICS (iKON)

After their debut, iKON has had a slew of challenges, mainly as regards being mishandled and harassed by YG Entertainment.

During international promotional activities, the members were heavily overstressed, overworked, and have fallen out of prominence in Korea because of them, although they eventually managed to recover some popularity in 2018. Regrettably, after that, leader B. I left the band because of previous drug allegations (whether it's on his own or whether he's been forced to stay up for discussion), which is always hard for fans to manage.

MONBEBE (MONSTA X)

After rumors of completely unsubstantiated previous drug usage came to light, MONBEBEs predictably hesitated to acknowledge Wonho leaving the party. He's been found innocent since then, but he's not going to return to MONSTA X, which disappointed the fans.

The band also struggles with an unusually high volume of antis hatred, which MONBEBEs often find it hard to contend with.
