On May 15, The Big Issue magazine unveiled YoonA's photo session and interview discussions with the Girls' Generation member and actress.
YoonA managed to show off different looks in the photoshoot, donned in a long dress in a photo, and a suit jacket with shorts in the other.
She started opening about a specific birthday culture and appreciation for those who look up to her in the following interview.
"I always seemed to have a birthday bash with my supporters throughout my celebration on May 30, but this year I wasn't able to do anything because of different circumstances. In the meanwhile, I was thinking about what I should do, and I started to feel like doing something positive, so I was thinking about The Big Issue," she stated.
The Big Issue is a magazine that helps homeless individuals and families or those who are at risk of becoming homeless by offering to help them accumulate completely valid revenue as they sell them at rail stations.
YoonA, who made charitable contributions and voluntary activities, appreciated her supporters, stating, "I am the person who considers what I can do and all I can really pour my heart in. I think that love comes too much from sharing. My fans are going to do beautiful and good things under my name, and I am very grateful for that."
In July 2018, YoonA was invited to join the Blue House of Korea to meet with the First Lady at that time. First Lady Kim Jung Sook decided to take the time to say thank you to ten different donors, including YoonA, for their help at the event on July 3, 2018. Of these nine other special campaign contributors, like the 10-year-old Kim Na Yeon (who decided to donate the cash prize she obtained from different competitions).
YoonA was also listed as a special contributor as she was the first celebrity musician to enroll as a participant in the "Honor Society," a community of significant private donors who have expressed an interest in and contribute to the causes of social matters. She also donates to the Group Chest of Korea promotional activities.
YoonA started to donate in 2010 personally, and in 2015, she became the first celebrity singer to become a part of the "Honor Society." To become part of this community, throughout five years, one must either have contributed USD 90,000 or decided to donate USD 90,000.
Until now, YoonA has contributed approximately USD 270,000 to the Korea Society Chest. Back in 2015, when she became a part of the group, YoonA voiced concerns about rendering her efforts public but eventually agreed to join the "Honor Society" in hopes of promoting the culture of sharing.
"I decided not to make it known at first because I was secretly trying to support others in need. I always felt, however, that sharing this stuff was essential too," she shared.
"I wanted to register with the Honor Society with an intention that I will make a significant contribution to the propagation of a culture of sharing," she added.
