EXO-Ls were upset and enraged after MNET disrespected Lay, an EXO member, in its recent broadcast featuring the K-pop group's MV clip.

During the recent TMI News of the broadcasting channel, the K-pop boy group under SM Entertainment was featured, showcasing their breakthrough track, "Growl," also considered as EXO's representative song and the "unofficial national anthem" of South Korea.

In the broadcast, the host and the guest idols, TXT, watched the iconic music video. Unfortunately, the episode trended on various social platforms for an unpleasant reason.

Fans and netizens, aside from spotting the alleged ghost in the MV, were quick to notice how some of the EXO members' faces were blurred out, immediately causing an outcry.

EXO debuted in 2012 with 12 members, including Suho, Xiumin, D.O., Sehun, Chanyeol, Chen, Lay, Kris, Tao, Luhan, Baekhyun, and Kai. The group had two sub-groups, EXO-M and EXO-K, which were meant to promote in China and Korea.

However, after the three members of EXO-M, Tao, Luhan, and Kris left SM Entertainment and the group, EXO has been promoting as nine members.

While it can be acceptable that MNET blurred the three idols' faces who already withdrew from EXO, what infuriated EXO-Ls was even Yixing, popularly known as Lay, was blurred out, too. Lay remains an EXO member and is currently busy promoting in his home country China.

Upon the broadcast, fans who watched the episode and got ahold of the news were angered and began demanding an apology from MNET after disrespecting EXO's Lay. On the same day, the fandom began trending the hashtags #MNetApologizetoYIXING and #LAYisEXO, topping the worldwide Twitter trends.

Meanwhile, EXO's Lay has been augmenting and maintaining a steady fandom in his homeland. And even though he seldom takes part in EXO's activities and promotions now (his last participation was in "Don't Mess Up My Tempo"), he is always vocal and honest when expressing his love and connection with EXO-Ls and his members who he refers to as his "brothers" in his appearances in Chinese broadcasts.

In the recent episode of CRZ 2, wherein Lay is competing against singers, songwriters, and music producers like him, Lay touched EXO-Ls' hearts as he proudly revealed to the participants that his lock screen and home wallpaper are none other than his co-members.

Lay also shared that despite not being able to promote with the group for now due to his own schedules, they always find time together to get along and have fun when their overseas schedules overlap and when he flies to Korea.

Further, he shared that he also sang with EXO members during the wedding of one of their managers.

What's more? Before their leader Suho's military enlistment, Suho held an Instagram live broadcast and fans were surprised to see Lay joining the live stream. He even responded sweetly to Suho when Suho told him he misses him.

Then, when Suho enlisted on May 4, Lay shared EXO's recently-taken group photo as an Instagram Story and told the group leader to take care of his health and wished him luck.

Given these instances, EXO's Lay, just like the many times he had proven it, is an EXO member, which is why fans firmly believe that MNET blurring Lay's face in the MV is utterly disrespectful.

Shortly after, MNET re-edited and re-uploaded the TMI segment featuring EXO, now exposing EXO's Lay face. However, fans are not buying it and are still demanding MNET to give a proper public apology.
