The expression "the grass is always greener on the other side" implies that the lifestyles of others often seem more attractive than the lifestyle of everyone else. This was personally experienced by members of BTS.
Jin said something about how he and his peers envy one another's life for differing reasons in Episode 6 of "Break The Silence."
"My friends tell me that they envy my life, but I really envy my friends' lives sometimes," the singer said.
"Same here," RM agreed, to which Jin responded with, "That is how it is."
RM did agree that through his own friends, he had much the same experience.
"They'd say, 'You will never have to worry about finding a place to live, Then I'd say, 'Look, well you don't have to worry when you walk around the streets,'" BTS's leader remarked.
While his friends may not have the same financial stability as him, they are privileged enough to keep their confidentiality, unlike the BTS members. Except for Jin and RM, their pals could go without fear and anxiety, and wherever they wish.
Suga then added that "the grass on the other side is always greener." What other individuals possess and how they enjoy living, when it is out of grasp, seems much more precious.
"When you look at what others have, it seems much more special. The grass is always greener on the other side," the rapper said.
In the earlier episode, Suga admitted to being jealous of other people who can do ordinary things, including going out with friends, that he can't do anymore as he's a celebrity.
"I'm very jealous of people who could go out together with acquaintances to eat, book flights, go to the films and shows and stuff like that. These things are very different and unique to me because I find it very difficult to do them," Suga confessed.
That being said, what makes everything relatively easy for BTS is having friends who have been through the somewhat similar stuff that they are. "It keeps you sane, huh?" RM said.
"Knowing that six other people are going through the same things as me has helped me come this far without any trouble," he added.
The futures of seven South Korean boys completely changed on June 13, 2013. Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Kim Namjoon, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jungkook have become BTS's Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
In "Break The Silence" Episode 3, Jin spoke up regarding existing as both BTS's Kim Seokjin and Jin, and what bearing it has made on his friendships.
"I believe the two lives are similar," he started, "but I really don't lead them the very same manner. I still think Jin of BTS lives a comfortable and happy life," Jin shared.
"As Kim Seokjin, for me, I haven't changed and I am living a very happy life. But like Jin of BTS, life on the other side can be a bit challenging. If you win a few, you lose a few," he went on.
While it's hard to lose friends, Jin thinks of what he's earned and not what he had lost: the fans who contributed to making his dreams come true.
