LOEN Entertainment, IU's management company, released a statement regarding false rumors surrounding the star. They will take legal action against whomever that first initiated the spreading of baseless, atrocious lies online.

The following is the official statement issued on May 27.

"We would like to provide an official statement regarding the false rumors surrounding IU that are floating around online. First of all, we are afraid of today's reality in which such ridiculous false rumors turn into make-shift truths under the banner of 'online rumors' and spread like diseases.

LOEN Entertainment will request a formal investigation from the police and take legal actions against the original creator of the false allegations. In addition, we will uproot the constant defamation jabs taken at IU.

As such, we will continue to enact stringent measures and allow zero tolerance against unreasonable hate remarks directed at our artists and actors. We politely ask all of you to reconsider writing speculative, exaggerated reports if only to prevent the enormous stress and pain for the parties involved.
