Korean entertainment firms can be relatively deliberately dishonest and questionable. This may be for several reasons, such as needing to ensure a consistent image, having fans to keep a cool head, among others.
Below are many occasions that Korean entertainment firms were found to be completely dishonest.
CUBE ENTERTAINMENT (HYUNA AND DAWN ISSUE)
There were reports in 2018 that HyunA and Dawn weredating, but Cube Entertainment released an official statement that said it was unreal. Soon HyunA and Dawn happened to come out and confirmed they were dating, proving Cube Entertainment was telling lies about their remark.
Cube Entertainment then came on to dismiss both of its contractual agreements because they "lost trust."
TS ENTERTAINMENT (B.A.P ISSUE)
The unfair treatment of B.A.P by TS Entertainment is very well recognized, as the party has filed a lawsuit against the company already. B.A.P filed the case because TS Entertainment was benefiting from their agreements and the members were receiving unfair profits. TS Entertainment tried to protect itself by demanding equal treatment of B.A.P.
Bang Yongguk afterward, that being said, made a statement saying that the company had never paid him, and even had to go a long way to finding the money for the court case.
"I was never complaining that I didn't have enough money. But it has cost a lot to try. Because the company never paid me, I decided to sell my sneaker collection and paid out the service charges," he said.
"Right now, I live with my parents. I went right back to the news publication's distribution office, wherein I started working when I was in high school. The owner knew I had been making my debut as a famous person. He kept asking me why I'm still trying to deliver the newspapers. I smiled and told him to get some workout since, at the moment, I wasn't promoting anything. I really couldn't tell the whole truth. I was delivering newspapers like that once again," he went on.
KEY EAST ENTERTAINMENT (KIM HYUN JOONG'S OF DUI ISSUE)
Kim Hyun Joong was convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2017, but KeyEast Entertainment refuted the charges. The firm said that a driving attendant had asked Kim Hyun Joong to drive his car, but that was the only explanation he was driving.
Nonetheless, CCTV video showed that this was a complete lie. It was revealed that Kim Hyun Joong was driving for about 15 minutes, and seemed like he was traveling home until he got pulled over by the police.
PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT (IZONE ISSUE)
Han Sung Soo, CEO of Pledis Entertainment, hit the headlines for his process of earning greater profit. It has been disclosed that he has secretly incorporated the name of his spouse as a songwriter for several of the songs from IZ*ONE.
Han Sung Soo's wife took no part in any processes of making the songs and earned no royalties at all. Han Sung Soo did so primarily because he wanted to earn more profits for the albums. Afterward, he would apologize profusely for his behavior.
YG ENTERTAINMENT (BLACKPINK ISSUE)
YG Entertainment has a public image for telling lies to fans all the time, and it seems BLINKs get the very worst of all it. YG Entertainment rarely retains its promises about BLACKPINK comebacks, as the agency agreed to drop Rosé 's solo song in 2019, but it's still not launched a year later.
