Check Out These Greatest "What Ifs" That Could Have Changed The Entire K-pop Industry

In the last decade, the K-pop we've known has grown significantly. Members are in the groups that we most identify, songs have been launched at the right time, and some acts become somewhat popular over the years.

This all started happening due to various choices individually and at times nationally... but what if they didn't really happen at all? What if certain occurrences were even slightly altered? Reddit users have put together a list of instances that could change the K-pop world, as we know it - if any.

See them below!

WHAT IF BEAST VOCALIST HYUNSEUNG DEBUTED WITH BIGBANG?

As a group of six, BIGBANG nearly made its debut in 2006.

Then-CEO of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk, established a band, they chose to make their appearance as trainees with G-Dragon, T.O.P, Daesung, Taeyang, and Seungri.

The member, Hyunseung, instead, debuted as a singer and BEAST dancer. If he started his career in BIGBANG, this would undoubtedly have altered chemistry within the group!

WHAT IF PRODUCE 101 WAS NEVER MANIPULATED?

If it were only based on nettle votes as planned, then X1 could have become one of the best leagues in 2019 and even beyond.

But oh well, Ahn PD confessed to the manipulation rankings, not to mention that they had already won several awards for their year-end award ceremonies.

Now, the members go either alone or to a pair or go back to their bands.

WHAT IF THESE GROUPS WERE TREATED PROPERLY BY THEIR MANAGING LABELS?

There is apparently an endless number of groups that deserve to grow and would've probably flourished further had they not been handled by their managing firms. Nine Muses, B.A.P, and PRISTIN are only a few groups that have ruptured but never wholly.

When they launched in 2012, B.A.P was also favored to win "Best New Rookie" prizes next to EXO. Also, on the same ship is BLACKPINK. Even when they are definitely successful globally, they would probably get more prominent if YG Entertainment had not retarded their opinions and gave more solo activities to members, like Rosé.

WHAT IF BOA NEVER DEBUTED?

BoA was the first performer throughout the industry to make it huge. Dubbed as the "Queen of K-pop," she was one of the most successful acts that played a significant role in the growth of SM Entertainment and the whole industry.

It is likely that without the business, the sales and contacts for debuting its other bands such as Super Junior, Girls' Generation, and SHINee would not have been available, especially when BoA launched nine hit songs in the nation and opened doors to the Japanese market. She seems to be the only international singer in Japan who has sold more than one million copies.

WHAT IF THERE WAS NO HALLYU BAN?

In 2016, China started to limit the entering of K-pop idols and music after considering the Korean policy THAAD to be a risk for national security. Organizations have lost millions of dollars as a result of the Hallyu ban, including the USD 230 million loss of YG Entertainment, but some groups have also been divided.

Since July 2017, Lay has not actively promoted with EXO and Super Junior-M has ceased to be involved. The fact that f(x)'s Victoria was becoming popular in the country could have also been great in China.

WHAT IF MOMO AND TZUYU DID NOT DEBUT IN TWICE?

Without their main dancer Momo and visual Tzuyu, it is difficult to imagine what TWICE would have been like. As the last moment of their survival show "Sixteen," all of their dreams were achieved because of Park Jinyoung.

Momo is widely recognized as one of this generation's greatest K-pop dancers, and Tzuyu has also been labeled as one of the celebrities who has the most gorgeous faces in 2019. Without them, TWICE couldn't have become their century's top female group.

WHAT IF MEN IN SOUTH KOREA DON'T HAVE TO ENLIST IN THE MILITARY?

Finally, although it is certainly a controversial subject, it is completely accurate that if the males won't leave two years to start serving the army, K-pop will indeed look totally different.

The second-generation top teams may have managed to remain as hugely popular these days and connected together. For example, SHINee would all promote solo activities rather than just Taemin.

On the other hand, if the military service was not obligatory, fans wouldn't have seen the best of their bias.

Taecyeon of 2PM was praised for his success in getting surgery to fix his bad health. Anything that occurred or might have transpired worked out for the better for the K-pop sector.

Rather than "what if," relying upon the future and making the most in the present might be better!
