The iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S rumor mill is active again, due to a recently discovered Apple patent filing and information uncovered by a Taiwanese tech site.

Apple's latest patent filing is for technology that would adjust the iPhone 6's volume based on its distance from the user's ear, ValueWalk reported.

Additional rumors suggest the iPhone 6 will have twice the number of pixels of the iPhone 5.

WeiPhone originally reported that the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, depending on which name Apple chooses for this year's phone release, will have double the pixels of the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5S, or iPhone 6, display will take up more space on the smartphone. Rumors indicate the display will have a narrower bezel, like the iPad mini's design. This iteration of the iPhone 6 would be shipped in September.

The other iPhone 6 rumor, regarding technology that would measure how close the user's ear is to the iPhone 6 and adjust the volume, was first reported by Phones Review.

However, many filed patents are never used in the finished products.

A more intriguing rumor suggests that Apple could reveal two new iPhone devices as early as next month.

Taiwanese Tech site Digitimes has reported that Apple could release information on the iPhone 6 and the budget iPhone, aimed at developing markets, as early as next month.

The WWDC is scheduled for June 10. Apple was originally expected to reveal just iOS 7 at the conference, but now a timeline for the iPhone 6 and the budget iPhone release is hotly anticipated at the event. 

Digitimes also reported that Chinese factories are increasing production rates to meet their shipment deadlines at the end of June, suggesting a summer release for the new iPhone.

The same Digitimes sources claim that Samsung will reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in July or August, in order to better compete with the soon-to-release iPhone 6 and budget iPhone.
