Matt Kemp Shows Generosity Toward Terminally Ill Fan...Again! Kemp Flew Fan In For Game, Is Now Batting Fifth - Hopefully Good Karma Pays Off

During a game three weeks ago, Dodgers star Matt Kemp stopped to talk to a terminally ill fan - then, in a huge act of generosity, gave him his jersey. And his cleats. And his hat. Which garnered him approximately one million karma points.

Well, now Kemp has a gazillion karma points, because it wasn't just a one-time gesture. Kemp remembered the fan, Joshua Jones, 19, who is terminally ill with cancer and has had brain surgery recently. He flew Jones and his family to Los Angeles to see the Dodgers play. They watched the Memorial Day game against the Angels from prime seats in Dodger Stadium.

Joshua Jones got the VIP treatment and met with Kemp, Dodgers president Stan Kasten, Angels star Mike Trout and Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. The incident three weeks ago occurred on the San Francisco Giants field - Jones is from Tracy, CA. So Jones got a chance to see Kemp on his home turf.

It's been a difficult few weeks for Kemp, who was benched because of poor play. He's batting fifth, for the first time since 2010. There were rumors Kemp himself was terminally ill - but the Dodgers managers say he's healthy. Fans even booed him as he entered the stadium.

About being benched, Kemp said, "He's got to do what he's got to do...I don't disagree with him for moving me down. I've been giving away a lot of at-bats. I really haven't been helping my team too much."

Hopefully Kemp's karma points from his act of generosity towards his ill fan will get him some real-life points soon.
