LeAnn Rimes 'Depressed' And 'Disgusted' After Eddie Cibrian Affair, Uses New Album As 'Intensive Therapy'

LeAnn Rimes may have struggled with being "depressed" after her affair with Eddie Cibrian, but she's making her way back with her upcoming album that helped her navigate her emotions.

"I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic," said the 30-year-old country singer who began an extramarital affair with then-married Cibrian.

But "Spitfire," the album set to release on June 4, guided her feelings post-affair after both Rimes and Cibrian's marriages ended in divorce.

"I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record," said Rimes according to The Huffington Post.

"There were a lot of things I didn't even realize I was feeling ... I needed to go somewhere and really process all of that stuff."

Since the media scandal, Rimes and Cibrian have married, and the starlet has become very honest with her negative thoughts, even going into rehab last August to receive treatment.

"I went in and took care of myself because I was stressed, I was depressed and anxious, and I didn't know how to process everything," she said.

The journey is documented in the new album with singles like "What Have I Done," which foreshadowed her affair, and "Borrowed," which talked about the pain of being in love with a married man, reported Daily News.

But now, the singer has found new life after her world seemingly ended.

"I'm the strongest I've ever been," says Rimes to US Magazine.

"I'm the most honest with myself that I've ever been, I'm the most secure I've ever been about myself and my family, and I'm the most confident I've been in a really long time."
