On the newest episode of "On and Off," Kyungri disclosed that she had gone through a hard time since the disbandment of 9MUSES last year.
On the TvN reality show broadcast on June 20th, the musician chose to speak truthfully about how she coped with the abrupt disbandment of her band in February 2019.
"I spent approximately seven to eight years as a participant of 9MUSES, but one day, we just unexpectedly shut down our operations," recalled Kyungri. "I think that left me kind of shell-shocked."
"We were getting ready to release an album," she went on, "but it didn't end up being officially announced and produced, and our operations stopped. It was so sudden."
The musician became visibly sentimental as she continued, "I was having such a difficult time back then. I really want to do something for myself, at least, so I started to replace my schedule with promotional activities and tasks for a while, but they won't alter my thoughts and emotions. I felt like my world stopped, so I took a break for several months."
She clarified, "I came to the realization that while feeling the way I was feeling back then, I could not continue working."
Watching the clip from the studio of Kyungri's talk, her colleague guest Yubin felt a connection with her sentiments and communicated that even after the dissolution of Wonder Girls in 2017, she had went through a similar issue.
"I dedicated all my competitive spirit into this one thing, and then everything disappeared entirely like a mist," Yubin commented. Kyungri affirmed, "Everything simply vanished."
In 2012, Kyungri entered 9MUSES as a new Member for the first time. After the group dissolved in February 2019, in July of that year, she continued on to part ways with her longstanding company Star Empire.

"Hello, This is 9MUSES' Managing Label, Star Empire.
We hereby declare that for reasons such as expiry of contracts and after a thorough discussion with all the 9MUSES participants, the members and the firm decided that band promotional activities would be stopped.
We apologise profusely for the fact that we are trying to deliver such disappointing news to MINE, that has waited a long time. On February 12th at 12:00 PM KST, the digital single "REMEMBER" will be produced, and on February 24th, after the fan conference, all official 9MUSES campaigns are ended.
We wish to express our appreciation to the 9MUSES members that have established themselves in the last nine years as the best musicians, and to their strong fandom MINE, who has shown undying love, support and encouragement for 9MUSES and its members.
In the coming years, the members intend to continue individual activities in various areas. Please give plenty of support to the members and their new paths.
Thank you very much."
