BLACKPINK is undoubtedly one of the most prominent K-pop groups, and its four members are a big reason for this. And imagining it with other members if the band had a different lineup of members would be difficult to foresee.
Originally, though, the group was meant to be nine members and were supposed to be called PINK PUNK. It obviously didn't work out that way, so only four ladies (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa) got to make their debut under the YG Entertainment group.
Here is a brief overview of the positions of the other 5 individuals who should've been in PINK PUNK.
(G)I-DLE's MIYEON
In addition to the members of BLACKPINK, throughout her tenure with YG Entertainment, several pictures of Miyeon with BLACKPINK members are publicly available. Rumors say that YG Entertainment cut Miyeon from the group because she got caught up in an online controversy with Jung Jin Hyung, a MIX & MATCH competitor. After leaving YG Entertainment and debuting as a (G)I-DLE in 2018, Miyeon was welcomed to Cube Entertainment at last.
SECRET NUMBER's JINNY
Jinny had been a trainee for about five years at YG Entertainment when she left the agency. While she was a contestant in Produce 48, and that is the program that produced IZ*ONE, she eventually made several headlines. In Produce 48, Jinny was eventually eliminated, and her ultimate ranking was # 69. Jinny figured out a way to Vine Entertainment after her exclusion from the competition, where she finally debuted in Secret Number.
FORMER THE ARK's EUNA KIM
After her prosperous appearance at Superstar K3, Euna Kim was welcomed to YG Entertainment. After more than three years as a trainee, she quit for her debut suspicions.
She officially debuted as a solo act in 2014 and started her career at The Ark in 2015. Unfortunately, less than one year after their debut, The Ark finally disbanded due to its first failure.
Euna Kim has made several attempts since The Ark's dissolution, but some have not been successful. Her most latest post is when she's in a duo called KHAN, but disbanded in 2020.
JANG HANNA
Following a positive presence on K-pop Star 3, Jang Hanna decided to join YG Entertainment in 2014.
In 2017, Jang Hanna eventually quit YG Entertainment. Jang Hanna should have made her professional debut several years ago, as she just started debuting in 2020.
She said, "From features, I've regularly promoted in previous years, but it's my first moment to create my first solo album, so I'm excited and anxious. I have waited and planned with much enthusiasm for this song, and it's entirely new."
She added, "I came to the realization once that even after departing YG Entertainment, I am surrounded by wonderful and positive-minded people as well. I was making preparations alone. Troubles were present, and I'm extra worried, but many people were helping me."
KIM EUNBI
After her positive participation on Superstar K2, Kim Eunbi was welcomed by YG Entertainment. Along with some members of BLACKPINK, while they were new recruits, some pictures suggest that she was to debut with them. In 2014, nevertheless, for health reasons, she considered leaving YG Entertainment. She finally went to Stone Music Entertainment, where her solo debut took place in 2019.
