A 4-Inch Pencil Was Lodged In Man’s Head For Over 15 Years: The Man Had No Idea It Was There

A full, 4-inch pencil was found to have been lodged in a man's head for 15 years by doctors at a German clinic.

The man, who is now 24 years old and from Afghanistan, sought medical assistance when he experienced symptoms such as frequent colds, painful headaches, and worsening vision in one of his eyes for years.

During the doctors' examination of the man's brain, the doctors were extremely surprised to find a 4-inch pencil that was lodged inside the man's nasal tract for over 15 years.

The man who sought help from German doctors had no idea that the pencil was inside his head, and was also clueless about how a pencil as long as 4 inches could have gotten inside his nasal tract.

The man's best guess was that when he fell hard during a childhood accident, the pencil might have gotten stuck in his brain without him knowing.

The pencil somehow went from his sinus to his pharynx and was lodged there for years, thus placing great pressure on his right eye and causing poor vision.

The long pencil that has penetrated through to his head also caused painful headaches for the man and was also most likely to be the cause of his constant colds.

As the man's painful fall occurred when he was just 7 years old, the pencil has caused him ill symptoms for over 15 years. It was extremely surprising for the doctors to find out that the pencil's presence was completely unknown to the man.

Fortunately, through an extensive surgery, the pencil was successfully removed from the man's head, thus relieving the patient from any more painful symptoms. The man has also reportedly made smooth recovery from the surgery.

This strange case of a pencil lodging in a man's head was first presented at a medical conference this week, according to hospital spokesperson Mathias Brandstaedter.
