Courteney Cox And David Arquette Finalize Divorce, Seek Joint Custody Of 8-Year-Old Daughter

TMZ reports that Courteney Cox and David Arquette have finalized their divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Cox, 48, and Arquette, 41, announced their split in October 2010 after 11 years of marriage. They filed divorce papers in June 2012 on what would have been their 13th wedding anniversary, according to Us Weekly.

They cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their calling the marriage quits.

The couple share an 8-year-old daughter, Coco, who is almost nine now. Both Cox and Arquette are seeking joint custody of Coco and their split seems one of the most amicable types of breakups, People reports.

Cox gushed about her soon-to-be ex-husband on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"He's my best friend in the world," the Cougar Town actress and former star of the show "Friends" said in January. "I love him."

A week later, Arquette told People: "She's incredible. ... I love her, too, and she's an amazing person, a beautiful person."

But Cox also added that divorce isn't easy, especially for a young child caught in the middle.

"I mean...It's hard. I don't recommend divorce in general but you know, he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed and I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do," Cox said, E! Online reports.
