According to numerous media outlet reports on July 22, Wednesday, former MONSTA X member Wonho is preparing to make his solo debut, scheduled to be released by the end of 2020.
Sources say Wonho is currently preparing for his debut album, which is expected to be released at the end of August. There is no confirmation on the exact date or concept the artist will tackle.

ABOUT WONHO
Wonho debuted with MONSTA X in 2015 under Starship Entertainment. Prior to his debut, he was part of a project group called Nu Boyz with fellow Starship Entertainment trainees (including current MONSTA X members Shownu and Joohoney) in August 2014. The group would post covers to Starship Entertainment's official YouTube channel. In December of 2014, Starship Entertainment and Mnet launched a survival show called "No. Mercy" to determine the members of MONSTA X.
On October 31 in 2019, Starship Entertainment announced Wonho would be leaving the group following allegations surrounding the idol. When he was younger, rumors of herb usage started making its rounds and causes Wonho major backlash, as the substance is illegal in South Korea. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency launched an inquiry into the allegations.
On March 14, 2020, Starship Entertainment revealed the investigation had been concluded, and Wonho was cleared of all charges, proving the rumors to be false. In April 2020, Wonho signed to Highline Entertainment, a subsidiary of Starship Entertainment. He signed to the label as a solo artist and producer. On May 2020, he signed a management agreement with Maverick Entertainment, a U.S. management agency, which has caused many to believe he will be promoting as a soloist in the West as well.

The group was formed through the reality survival show "No. Mercy" by Starship Entertainment. The group debuted in 2015, and currently consists of six members: Shownu, Joohoney, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, Kihyun, and I.N. There were originally seven; however, member Wonho left the group in 2019 following allegations of owed money and assets as well as drug allegations which was cleared later on.
In April 2018, MONSTA X's Japanese single "Spotlight" received an official gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
