Nam Donghyun, who previously participated on "PRODUCE X 101" and ranked 60th, will be making his solo debut.
According to a company representative, Nam Donghyun will be releasing his first solo album on July 26 under the stage name BOYHOOD. He will debuting under Management Good People. He was previously signed to The South and had represented them during his time on "PRODUCE X 101."
Nam Donghyun has recently finished shooting his album jacket and other photo shoots, and the agency notes that he is putting all his effort to show the best sides of him for his album release. The album will showcased Nam Donghyun's musical talent, as he has written, composed, and produced the title track, "Retro Love," himself.
Nam Donghyun, who was born in 1999, made headlines when it was revealed he was former WINNER member Nam Taehyun's younger brother. He was also a member of South Club with Nam Taehyun and had released a few songs called "Blue Purple" and "Mad Kid" during his time with the group. He was previously signed to his older brother's label "The South," but Nam Taehyun had decided to dissolve the self-run label. South Club has since signed with another agency, but it is not stated which.
Nam Donghyun is known to be musically talented, knowing how to play guitar and piano. Additionally, he had played bass during his time in the South Club.
Nam Dohyun participated on "PRODUCE X 101," where he ranked 60th place and was eliminated in episode 8. He ranked A class during the first auditions, but was later reassigned to C class. During his time on the show, he made headlines for being Nam Taehyun's brother and for his stunning visuals. On the program, he performed MONSTA X's "DRAMARAMA," SEVENTEEN's "CLAP," and WANNA ONE's "Day by Day."
After the dissolvement of The South, Nam Donghyun created a YouTube channel and was active as a YouTube creator. He posted original songs as well as song covers to his channel, "BOYHOOD 남동현." His last video shows him reacting to his debut teaser.
