Despite being recognized for their skills and visuals, K-pop idols are human too. That's why it is not impossible for them to have insecurities about their face, body parts, and their unique qualities.
The following K-pop personalities are known to have the best visuals in the K-pop industry; nevertheless, they revealed that these things concern them the most and eventually became their little insecurity.
1. Bae Suzy
The former Miss A visual and "Nation's First Love" also has insecurities despite being the definition of perfection! According to the idol-actress, she doesn't like her forehead line as well as baby hairs. Suzy also revealed that because she's not confident enough with her body, she turned down underwear CF offers. However, as the years passed, Suzy learns to embrace everything about herself and gained self-esteem.
2. Girls' Generation Yoona
Yoona, considered as the "Face of K-pop," also has her little insecurities about herself. She revealed that due to the kind of work she entered, Yoona became careful and timid when she debuted. However, as the years passed, she learned to love herself more and gained confidence.
She reminded every youth, "I hope that young women will have a confident attitude. Though you have to moderate it to not appear as arrogant." She also reminded the young generation to speak their thought and treasure themselves more confidently.
3. Red Velvet Irene
Irene is known as the "original visual," yet she confessed that she's insecure about not being able to create her own name as Bae Joo Hyun (Irene's real name) in the industry due to lack of solo activities. She's been busy with Red Velvet's schedules, and now in her unit with Seulgi, but she barely has the opportunity to make her "own stuff." Thus, Irene wants to shine in her own way now.
4. TWICE Tzuyu
Twice Tzuyu has her own little insecurities about her skin tone. During a live broadcast, she playfully asked that she never felt dark when she's recording alone, but when her co-member Dahyun sat beside her, she suddenly became darker. Fans then console her that she can't beat Dahyun, who is a "human tofu" for her pale skin, and commended Tzuyu's unrivaled visual.
5. Former f(x) Sulli
Still one of the K-pop idols with unrivaled beauty, the late Sulli was always one of the tallest members in the group despite being the youngest member. She doesn't like it when people think she's actually taller than she is. Also, she said that one of her complexes was her smaller eye than the other, that when she smiles, people think she's winking when she's not.
6. EXO Kai
Kai always stands out due to his tan color, but it actually became one of his insecurities. It is a beauty standard in Korea that idols with pale skin appear more attractive than with darker tones. That's why some K-netz make of his skin.
However, people in this new generation have become more sensitive when it comes to this topic. And with the K-pop realm going global, criticisms like this are frowned upon. Nevertheless, Kai evidently is happy with himself now, and fans can't agree more that his tanned complexion actually makes him sexier!
7. INFINITE L
L, who is one of the best visual idols who stole (and still do!) K-pop fans' hearts, actually has his insecurities, too. Myungsoo, his real name, was born with curly hair, a rare trait among Koreans. He thinks that he stood out so much growing up, that's why he is handling it by styling it up.
8. SHINee Taemin
While most people want to have a pretty face, Taemin, a former ulzzang (internet stars who have the best faces), shared that his biggest complex is having a "pretty face." Compared to other idols' visuals, Taemin's have a facial feature prettier than women. He is also slim and has pretty long hair during his debut days. That's why he's often pushed to dress as a woman. Thankfully, fans love him a lot for who he is!
9. BTS Jin
Even the worldwide handsome himself admitted that his biggest complex was his dancing and singing skills. However, Jin had always wanted to improve and do better - and so he did, evident in their recent comebacks.
10. GOT7 Jackson
Jackson is known to be a social butterfly in the K-pop industry, that's why he revealed that his biggest complex is his personality. Doing nothing and just staying at home make him feels insecure. To overcome it, the male idol will contemplate new ideas and make himself busy, such as writing new songs and editing videos.
