BTS's J-Hope is known for quietly doing good deeds, such as donating, without making public announcements. Just recently, he along with the other BTS members donated $1 million USD to support staff from the live-performance industry during the COVID-19, as the pandemic has caused them to be unable to work. BTS's fanbase, the ARMYs, is also known for following BTS's lead and donating to the same organizations as the group, as well as donating to other movements they feel the boys will support.

Lee Ji Hoon, the chariman of the Green Umbrella Child Fund Korea, expressed his thanks to J-Hope, saying, "I would like to share my deep gratitude to J-Hope, a member of the global boy group BTS, for keeping in mind the children suffering through financial difficulties and making a donation. In response to his precious wishes, the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation will do its best to support children in need."
