There is no surprise that anyone famous has many haters as they have fans, if not more. While not all idols can defend themselves right then and there, others are absolutely upfront in protecting themselves or their groups. Often, right after debut, artists are met with immense amounts of hate. At that time, low self-esteem can let haters walk all over them. However, not all idols hold back.
We hope more idols find the courage to stand up for themselves against haters or at least shake them off.
Here is a list of the times idols coolly gave the best comeback ever to their haters.
1. BTS RM and SUGA
During the beginnings of BTS, a lot of Netizens were not particularly fond of the group. They would leave malicious comments on their posts, their fan café, and other spaces on the internet. When these would be in English, RM would translate them into positive messages for the members, so they don't lose heart.
However, there's only so much a man can take.
While reading comments, RM read a comment that said, "Rap Monster doesn't look like an idol at all keke."
After reading the comment, he only had one simple message for anyone who doubted him and his members: "I'll prove it to you (haters) all."
Today, BTS has addressed the UN twice, is breaking records left and right, and being proclaimed as the pride of Korea. He sure did prove it to everyone.
Similarly, on multiple V Lives when he's asked about hate comments and such, he's always sure to respond by saying that they don't bother him as he's not the one looking at those comments, BTS's legal team is.

2. SNSD TAEYEON
Taeyeon is not one you want to mess with, for she will never stand for anyone questioning her or her capabilities. A malicious commenter once left comments calling Taeyeon "plastic" and that she had multiple "failed surgeries."
Taeyeon decided to coolly respond to this comment by simply retorting, "Ok, look in the mirror." Could there have been a better comeback for this stupid, malicious comment? We think not!
3. JAMIE
During an IG live broadcast, a malicious comment sent her a comment saying "gaesekgi", a terrible Korean curse word spelled out in English. Jamie did not waste any time before calmly quoting the comment and responding via a video message where she doesn't even say anything. All she did was make a gesture signifying, "not me, you." What a simple and effective way to tell haters to back off and not seek unnecessary attention.
4. GOT7 JACKSON
When Jackson was called a racial and ethnic slang during a live broadcast in the comments, Jackson handled it as maturely and beautifully as one could. After a short pause to gauge the situation, he responded calmly by saying that everyone should maintain a positive attitude and spread positive messages only instead of negativity and hate comments—what a beautiful way to shut a hater up. Kill them with kindness.

5. IU
IU is one of those idols who does not take malicious comments light and neither should she. She has repeatedly been stern about receiving hate messages and death with them legally. She has never once shied away from pressing charges.
In an interview, she spoke about such comments saying, "In one of the perpetrator's letters of reflection, they said that their parents were about to get a divorce because of the rumors being spread about me, so I got confused for a second and thought, 'What is this, am I really the criminal here?' but oh well, I'm still going to press charges." A savage queen, indeed!
