On October 7, Wednesday, at 11:01 PM KST, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced via Twitter that the supergroup SuperM will be attending their "World Mental Health Day" online event.
The event, dubbed "The Big Event for Mental Health" or simply "The Big Event", will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 11 PM KST. The group is joining the roster of attendees from across the glob to promote mental health awareness, as well as to promote educational mental health programs. The event is free and open to the public. The event will be streamed on the World Health Organization's official Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and website.
The boys of SuperM will also be performing their song "Better Days", which comes from their first album "Super One", to spread a message of love and comfort.
According to the World Health Organization's official website, the event will be attended by world leaders and internationally-recognized celebrities to advocate for mental health. It is the World Health Organization's first-ever online advocacy event for mental health. The event will focus on the world's need to address the chronic under-investment in mental health.
The event will be hosted by award-winning journalist Femi Oke and will feature an exciting line-up of performers, with SuperM being one of the main features.
Following the news of SuperM's appearance in "The Big Event", many international fans praised the group for taking part in an event that advocates for mental health. SuperM is a South Korea male supergroup that debuted under SM Entertainment and Capitol Music Group in 2019. The group is composed of seven members that come from four already existing SM Entertainment boy groups: Taemin from SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Taeyong and Mark from NCT 127, and Ten and Lucas from WayV.
