On Monday, the investigation regarding the theft case from the late Goo Hara's house was disclosed to the public. Dispatch, a Korean media outlet released CCTV footage they were able to acquire from the scene and provided an analysis of how the theft was conducted and who are the possible suspects.
According to Star News, Goo Ho In, the brother of the late idol, filed a case with the police, after learning that the safe of Goo Hara has been missing. It was then stolen in January, roughly 49 days after her passing.
A file was reported to the police then, and the authority also conducted an internal investigation immediately, but there has been no progress since then, as to who are the suspects.
Earlier, CCTV footage was found from the scene that happened on January 14. In particular, the video showed a man wearing a hat at the former KARA member's home trying to enter the house's password to the yard but failed to get the correct key after attempts.
In CCTV footage released for about a minute and 20 seconds, the man was heading past the wall and covered the CCTV lens with leaves. In the other 50-second video, the man touched the door lock and tried to open the front door but couldn't do so.
Though a professor named Koo Jae Moo from Digital Imaging Forensics Research Institute), insisted that the alleged two men were most likely the same person, it was not clear if there are two men who are accomplices of each other to stole the safe.
On the other side, a professional analyst says that they are not professional, as the movements were clumsy, and looking how familiar they are with the home structure, the suspects could be acquaintances of the late idol.
The report was filed in April when Goo Hara's friend who lived in Goo Hara's house noticed that the safe was missing. According to "K" and Hara's brother, the safe contained important documents and her used phone.
In their statement, they confirmed that the suspect might be someone who used to know Goo Hara. "K," said that they changed the password after the late idol left, but in the video, the man pressed the previous password (2**2#) without hesitation.
When he failed to enter the front door, he also changed his route. Entering the veranda on the second floor on the outer wall structure. Through the veranda-> connecting door-> multi-use room-> connecting door-> clothing room.
"He knows the structure of the house well. You wouldn't know it if you are new from the house. Also, he knew that the door isn't normally locked."
Furthermore, the criminal even knew the location of the safe. In particular, they stole only the safe.
"I didn't lock the closet door. Because she (Hara) goes back and forth often from her room to her closet. We also turned off the security system. It's someone who knows this."
As of now, there is still no progress in the investigation aside from the footage. Other CCTV videos were also deleted that could help the case investigation.
