Two And A Half Men Adds A Lady: Cryer Only Original Cast Member Left After Jones Leaves Show

“Two and a Half Men” will be introducing a lady in the series as a regular. The still unknown female face of the veteran comedy will replace former child star, Angus T. Jones, according to Deadline.

Jones’ departure means that only Jon Cryer is left of the original two and a half men in the title of the sitcom, reports Yahoo. The comedy series debuted in 2003 and was renewed for its 11th season earlier this month.

The female role that will be added is for a girl in her late teens or early 20s who comes to town looking for her father. She shows up at the home of Walden Smith (Ashton Kutcher) and Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) claiming to be the daughter of the house’s previous owner, Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen).

With the new addition, “Two and a Half Men” will have subbed two of the three characters in the title, after a successful transition from original leading man Sheen to Kutcher two years ago.

According to US Weekly, Jones is looking to break into the music business and a source who spoke to the publication said that the show’s producers “tried really hard to keep him, but he was just done done.”

Last November, Jones released a YouTube video slamming “Two and a Half Men” as “filth” and asking viewers to “please stop watching.”

He apologized later for “showing indifference and disrespect” toward his colleagues, but rumors of his intent to leave the show have been circulated ever since.
