Trot Singer Reveals He Almost Became a BTS Member

On the October 26 episode of SBS Plus' variety program 'Eating Out Day: Season 2', the show featured trot idols No Ji Hoon, Kim Soo Chan, and Ryu Ji Kwang. There, Noh Ji Hoon revealed he could have debuted with BTS and why he chose not to.

Noh Ji Hoon told the cast and the viewers about the hardships he faced while preparing to debut as a singer and how he almost became a part of BTS. His stories drew heated attention and the ratings for the episode is one of the highest the show has seen.

Noh Ji Hoon revealed he was scouted by Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk after an audition program. While training under the company, he was put in the line-up for BTS and even shared housing with them.

However, he did not dream of becoming part of an idol group. "My dream was to become a solo artist," he said. "I dreamed of being the second Rain. I received an offer from the CEO who discovered Rain and ended up transferring to their company."

Following his shocking story, Kang Ho Dong asked, "What choice would you make if you could go back in time and become a member of BTS?" Noh Ji Hoon revealed he would not change anything. He said that he does not think it is his place to become a member of BTS and that the BTS now is already perfect and complete in itself. "I think the current group is just perfect," he says.

During the episode, Kim Soo Chan also revealed the hardships he endured while growing up. "My mother gave birth to me when she was only 20-years-old," he revealed. He talked about the strength and positivity his mother instilled in him despite the difficult family situation they were in, which touched the hearts of the people present in the studio and the viewers at him.

Ryu Ji Kwang also spoke up about his story and how he has become a pillar of strength for his family due to their difficult circumstances.

'Eating Out Day: Season 2 ' is a new concept dining-talk show that serves a table full of food to those who are tired of their daily lives; who would much rather listen to the life story and worried of others in a casual dinner setting. The show aired every Monday night at 10 PM.
