Powerball Winning Numbers: One Jackpot Winner Takes All $40 Million Home With Lucky Number ‘2’ [VIDEO]

The Powerball winning numbers were announced on May 29, and one jackpot winner won a whopping $40 million prize by choosing lucky number "2" for their Powerball jackpot number.

The Powerball winner, who purchased the winning ticket in Texas, matched all five white Powerball numbers as well as the red Powerball jackpot number.

The Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, May 29, were 9, 14, 17, 49, and 57.

Other than the lucky jackpot winner who became a millionaire overnight with $40 million, two other Powerball players also won $1 million each by matching the five white Powerball numbers. The two players missed the grand jackpot prize by failing to match the jackpot number.

The two other lucky Powerball players bought their Powerball tickets in Florida and Texas. It seems that Texas Powerball players had luck on their side last night, as both the jackpot winner and the $1 million winner were from the southern state.

At the previous drawing on May 25, three lucky Powerball players shared the $50 million jackpot. At the drawing last Saturday, nine other players also won $1 million each.

According to experienced Powerball winner, Lee Pietrobon from Georgia, who became a millionaire overnight earlier this month, the best way to win the lottery is by choosing the same numbers each week.

Each Powerball ticket costs only $2 and can be easily purchased in 43 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

To enter into the Powerball drawing, players select five Powerball numbers that range from 1 to 59, and also choose one Powerball jackpot number that ranges from 1 to 35. Players who match all six numbers take the jackpot home.

Powerball winning numbers are announced live on television and are posted on the official Powerball website as well.
