The artist who will be joining Rain for the upcoming duo debut is finally revealed!

On October 28, Rain Company (the idol's own agency) and Sublime Artist Agency, the label managing Rain, announced that Rain will be returning to the music scene as a member of a duo with a well-known artist. The identity of Rain's partner remained a mystery, but the company stated that it is someone with excellent dance skills.

Rain Company and Sublime Artist Agency both shared that the two artists will make performances that will be considered as 'the epitome of dance'. "We guarantee that their stages will be even better than 'Rainism,' which is still being talked about 10 years after it was launched and is thought of as the best performance," the two labels added.

Then on October 30, the two companies unveiled the artist who will be joining Rain in the project duo debut - it is none other than the Asiansoul Park Jin Young, also known by his stage names J.Y. Park and JYP. While the dates for the duo's official debut and album release are yet to be announced, both K-Pop stars are currently working hard to create a high-quality album.

The duo's upcoming release will be Rain's first album after roughly three years since his second extended play 'My Life,' which was out on December 1, 2017. Meanwhile, as for JYP, the forthcoming album will mark his first in approximately four months since his collaboration song "When We Disco featuring Sunmi that was launched on August 12 this year.

Rain actually started as a trainee for JYP's company, JYP Entertainment, in 2000. While he was constantly rejected before because of his looks, particularly because he did not have double eyelids, Park Jin Young saw his persistence and so he recruited him into his agency.

Under JYP Entertainment, Rain debuted as a solo artist in 2002 with his first solo album titled 'Bad Guy,' which consists of eleven songs including the title track of the same name. The album was well-received in South Korea, making him win numerous 'Best New Artist' awards.

After the success of his debut, Rain continued to launch numerous albums and held concerts in different cities across the globe. The idol left JYP Entertainment in 2007 to start his own agency, J. Tune Entertainment, but he still keeps in touch with JYP.

Meanwhile, JYP is one of the most influential solo artists back in the 90s until early 2000. And now, he owns one of the successful entertainment companies in South Korea, JYP Entertainment, which is home to several world-renowned K-Pop artists and groups, including TWICE, GOT7, Itzy, Stray Kids, Day6, and more. While JYP manages a number of artists and groups that contribute to the company's success, Park Jin Young himself still releases his own songs.

In other news, Rain and JYP collaborated for the first time after a decade in the September 27 episode of 'Season B Season'. In the segment, Rain visited the newly-built JYP Entertainment building, and that's when they teamed up to record a song.
