BTS Jimin Selected As The King of K-Pop — See The Rankings Here

On October 31, Sunday, King Choice has finally dropped the results of their much-anticipated 'King of K-Pop' poll. For the second year in the row, BTS's Jimin ranked at the top, officially making him the 'King of K-pop 2020'. Check out the rest of the results here to see who rose above the ranks.

At number one, we have BTS's Jimin. Jimin garnered a whopping 12,568,794 votes. Back in 2019, Jimin also ranked number one, earning 1,275,292 votes! This means he was named as the 'King of K-pop' for two consecutive years.

But this does not come as a surprise for ARMYs. In 2018 and 2019, he was selected as the most popular idol in South Korea in an annual survey conducted by Gallup Korea. He was also selected as the 17th best boy band member in history by The Guardian. Numerous magazines have praised his artistry, proving his talent in both singing and dancing.

At number 2, we have BIGBANG's G-Dragon, garnering 10,005,120 votes. G-Dragon is known in the industry as the original 'King of K-pop,' so it is no surprise that he ranked so high. Not only is G-Dragon known for his work with BIGBANG and as a soloist, but he is also known worldwide for his androgynous appearance. He has been praised by numerous international magazine for his genderless fashion. In 2015 and 2016, he was selected as one of the five Korean and the only K-pop star to make Busines of Fashion's '500 Global Fashion Leaders' list.

In third place, we have another BTS member! Jungkook garnered 1,978,477 votes. In 2019, Jungkook was selected by Gallup Korea as the third most popular celebrity in South Korea. He is also one of the most beloved celebrities in China. He is known as a 'Sold Out King.' alluding to how the items he is often seen with tend to sell out quickly. He is also known for spearheading the 'Modern Hanbok' trend in South Korea.

SHINee and SuperM member Taemin ranks at number four, with 633,046 votes. Due to the success and impact he has left during his career, he is known as the 'Idol's idol,' which references the number of idols who look at Taemin as a role model. Taemin has debuted a whopping four times! In 2008, he debuted with SHINee. In 2009, he debuted as an actor. In 2014, he debuted as a soloist. Finally, in 2019, he debuted with SuperM.

Fifth place goes to veteran K-pop idol TVXQ's Yunho with 545,277 votes. It is no surprise he ranked so high - he is famous not in South Korea and Japan but worldwide as both a member of TVXQ, a soloist, and an actor. Yunho is known as 'K-pop's Dancing King' by music critics.
