On November 1, Sunday, SM Entertainment dropped the video teaser for Aespa to introduce the four members. While this piqued international viewers' interest, Korean netizens are disappointed with the quality of content SM Entertainment is producing.
The teaser starts off by introducing Karina, showing off her visuals and dancing skills. Next up is member Winter, seen in two different settings; one outdoors and one indoors. While in the outdoors scene, she looks like a spring princess, she shows an other side to her indoors, holding a katana and showing her fighting skills as video game-esque effects show up.
Next is Chinese member Ningning. She is seen inside an indoor studio, spraying graffiti on the walls. She is also seen posing for the cameras, showing off her glowing visuals. Lastly, they introduced final member Giselle, who is confirmed to be Japanese. Giselle is seen out in the street, showing off her swagger as she appears to rap to the camera.
The video ends by showing both Aespa and SM Entertainment's logo.
The girls are already garnering fans with international audiences. However, Korean netizens continue to be skeptical of the girl group. As they were announced amid major controversies from SM Entertainment artists, many are turning their backs on the girls.
Now, they are slamming the teaser for being low budget, claiming that SM Entertainment is losing their edge and that the quality they have been putting out recently is falling behind expectations.

"It has been a while since SM Entertainment debuted a girl group so I am excited. However, the members' skills and visuals, and their concept has the same vibe as those from small to medium agencies."
"I cannot see a visual a member."
"This doesn't look like something from SM."
"Small and medium company vibes..."
"What on Earth is this? These days, the video quality of small and medium compares is way better than this."
"Wow, is this really from SM Entertainment? To be honest, I would not even care about them if they did not have that SM girl group title."
"Let's be honest, we're only interested in this group because they are from SM. I bet this group would have been buried if they were from a small or medium-sized agency."
"What happened to SM?"
"Why can't SM highlight the members' charms?"
"Ningning is so pretty. That's the only thing I can feel."
