ASTRO members will be starring in a new variety show!
KT's Seezn and SM C&C Studio A have teamed up with the South Korean boy group for a new idol variety show entitled 'ASTRO's One Thousand and One Nights.' On Nov. 6, an official poster related to the program was uploaded on Seezn's official Twitter account.
In the photo, all ASTRO members, namely Moonbin, MJ, Rocky, Jin Jin, Sanha, and Eunwoo, are dressed in Arabian outfits. The boy group forms a straight line behind Kim Soo Yong, who seems to an Arabian king for the said show. Along with the official poster is the pre-release schedule. Teasers are said to be released next week, from Nov.10 to 14.
In addition, 'ASTRO's One Thousand and One Nights' is revealed to premiere on November 16. It focuses on challenging the boy group members to a set of various games. ASTRO will be teaming up with MC/comedian Kim Soo Yong to better enhance their hidden skills.
The new variety show is composed of 12 episodes and will be broadcasted every Monday and Tuesdays at 6 p.m. KST every week via KT's Seezn mobile application.
Last May this year, ASTRO also had a collaboration with Kream and created several funny videos for a new variety show. This was the group's way to connect with their fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, plus ASTRO members revealed that they wanted to see their fans and that they miss AROHA (ASTRO's official fan club) a lot.
This year, on March 13, ASTRO released a special single album titled 'One&Only' to celebrate their fourth anniversary of debut. It consists of the title track 'One & Only' and its instrumental. It is said that all members of the boy group participated in writing the lyrics of the song, along with Obros and zomay. ASTRO members MJ, Rocky, and Jin Jin also took part in producing it, together with Obros, zomay, Erskineville, and BigGun.
On May 4, the boy group launched its seventh extended play called 'Gateway,' which contains six singles, namely 'Knock,' which is the title track, 'When You Call My Name,' 'Somebody Like,' 'We Still,' '12 Hours,' and 'Lights On.' Then, on June 28, ASTRO held an online 'ontact' concert called '2020 ASTRO Live on WWW' to interact with their fans. On that same day, the male group released the song 'No, I Don't,' which they performed at the said event.
On August 14, Fantagio announced that ASTRO's Moonbin and Sana will form the band's first-ever sub-unit. One month after, the unit dropped their EP entitled 'IN-OUT alongside the music video of its title song 'Bad Idea.' Besides the lead single, the mini-album also consists of four other tracks, specifically 'Eyez on U,' 'Alone,' 'All I Wanna Do,' and 'Dream Catcher.'
Meanwhile, ASTRO's Cha Eunwoo will be starring in the well-known webtoon 'True Beauty' along with Moon Ga Young and Hwang In Yeob. He will be playing one of the male lead roles, particularly Su Ho.
Moonbin is also part of an upcoming web drama titled 'The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning,' in which he also plays as the protagonist that goes by the name Woo Hyuk.
