Following reports saying TWICE member Jihyo and Kang Daniel have broken up, JYP Entertainment has released a statement confirming the two have split up. Read more about it here.
An official from TWICE Jihyo's agency, JYP Entertainment, told Newsen on Nov. 10, "After confirming, it is true that the two have recently broken up."
Earlier today (Nov. 10), an exclusive report from South Korean media outlet Dispatch claimed that TWICE's Jihyo and Kang Daniel have broken up after a year and three months of publicly dating. According to Dispatch, the reason the two have parted ways is that they have both become too busy with their activities and comeback preparations.
According to a source close to the couple, the two naturally started drifting apart as they focused on their respective albums and comebacks. As they became busier with comeback preparations, it became harder and harder for the two to make time to meet each other.
They add that both idols are dead-set on their goals and that they both agreed that their work and their careers were more important to them at this time.

Back in August 2019, Dispatch released an exclusive report, announcing that TWICE member Jihyo and Kang Daniel were in a relationship. According to reports at the time, the two started dating at the beginning of 2019.
They were introduced to one another by a close friend and started developing feelings for each other in 2018. A source close to both Jihyo and Kang Daniel claims that it is a senior idol who is friends with both idols that linked the two popular idols together.
Dispatch had caught the two on a date in Hannam-dong, which is the neighborhood Kang Daniel lives in. According to their report, Jihyo was seen driving her own car to Kang Daniel's home for dates. Since TWICE is still living in a dom together, it is more suitable for their dates to be at his home for privacy.
It was also reported that the TWICE members were all aware of Jihyo's relationship with Kang Daniel. Dispatch claimed that a fellow TWICE member was seen driving Jihyo to Kang Daniel's home and was later seen picking her up.
They also said that though TWICE was preparing to embark on a world tour at the time, the two idols found time to meet at least once a week. Notably, the idols spent July 25, 2019, together. This is an important date for Kang Daniel, as this is the day he debuted as a soloist. It was reported that Jihyo had visited Kang Daniel after his solo debut showcase.
Dispatch added the while they were dating, the two relied on each other for support during hard times. During Kang Daniel's lawsuit with his former agency and his debut preparations, Jihyo stuck by his side. When Jihyo was tired, he would stick by her to cheer her up and give her energy.
Shortly after news of them dating dropped, both JYP Entertainment and Kang Daniel's agency, Konnect Entertainment, confirmed the two were dating and were meeting with good feelings.
