Jamie continues to excite fans for her comeback with a new teaser.
On Nov. 10, the female K-Pop idol uploaded the official music video teaser of her new song on her personal YouTube channel. The clip lasts for about 30 seconds and it starts with Jamie pushing a button. She can then be seen walking through a dark hallway as the music starts to play.
There's also a part in which the idol can be seen with an astronaut. The video ended with Jamie walking in a foggy place with lush vegetation and several rays of what seems to be the moon.
Jamie first announced her comeback on Nov. 4 when she uploaded a picture of an astronaut on her official social media account, together with the caption that reveals the title of her new track and the date when it will be released. The next day, she posted three concept photos, and more teasers were unveiled the following days.
Her new song 'Apollo 11' will feature the American rapper Jay Park and is set to be released on November 11 at 6 p.m. KST. This will mark Jamie's first comeback in two months since her song 'Numbers' that was launched last September. 'Numbers' is her collaboration single with the South Korean rapper and producer Changmo.
In addition, 'Numbers' talks about people who see money or success as their basis to see the worth of other individuals. Jamie also suggests that using numbers to assess people and their accomplishments is an awful attitude.
Prior to releasing new music, Jamie appeared and participated in numerous episodes of Mnet's competition show 'Good Girl,' which aired from May to July this year. This is her first appearance as 'Jamie,' since she previously promoted as Jimin Park. She signed a contract with Warner Music Korea on April 21 and decided to go by the stage name 'Jamie.'
In the said program, Jamie competed with other female K-Pop idols such as Ailee, Cheetah, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, KARD's Jiwoo, Lee Youngji, Queen Wasabii, Sleeq, Yeeun, and Yunhway.
Jamie, formerly known as Jimin Park, started as an artist of JYP Entertainment on May 12, 2012, after winning first place in the competition show 'K-Pop Star' in 2011. Fourth months after she signed a contract, she was announced to be part of a duo called '15&' together with Baek Yerin. The duo released the track 'I Dream' on Oct. 5, 2012.
On March 31, 2015, Park Jin Young, the founder of JYP Entertainment, announced that Jimin would make her solo debut. And, on April 5 that same year, the female idol released the song 'Hopeless Love,' which marks her fresh start as Jimin Park.
On August 20, the singer launched the track 'My Way' alongside UNIQ's Seungyoun and rapper Nathan. The group was called M.O.L.A, short for Make Our Life Awesome. In the following years, Jimin continued to release her solo extended plays, particularly '19 to 20' in August 2016 and 'Jiminxjamie' in September 2018.
She left JYP on August 6, 2019, after her the expiration of her seven-year contract with the agency. 15& also disbanded that same year.
