Though SM Entertainment's new girl group just debuted (Nov. 17), member Giselle has already found herself entangled in rumors concerning her alleged controversial pre-debut life.
Recently, an anonymous netizen on an online community forum accused Giselle of covering up her dirty past to became an SM Entertainment trainee and idol. In the post, they accused Giselle of being a thug who did everything a minor should not do: drink underage, smoke, and do drugs. They claimed that her personal life was messy too.
They then accuse Giselle of ghosting everyone back in Japan to become an SM Entertainment trainee. They claim that, with no warning, she changed her phone number, deleted her Instagram, and moved to South Korea. It was a surprise for everyone that she was an SM Entertainment trainee.
According to the unnamed netizen, many of her friends still have photos from her old Instagram account. They also noted that the people she used to hang out with - or, as the netizen says, the kids she used to drink and do drugs with - all follow Aespa's official Instagram account. The rumors are yet to be confirmed nor denied, but Korean netizens are quick to believe the accusations made against Giselle. Fans are saying that the rumors surrounding the newly debuted idol sound believable and question whether they should support the group.

"Wow, this gave me the chills."
"These all sound believable."
"I think it's true... Everything seems to add up...."
"In terms of their South Korean fandom, they are already ruined. Honestly, the only people who would like them are idiots, and I am definitely not one of them."
"Hey, ladies and gentlemen, stop believing in Aespa. Are the members of Aespa your friends? How long are you going to delude yourself and deny the facts? You know that it is most likely true and that all their saying is legitimate. What are you guys going in about? Are you going to live your lives in denial?"
Previously, SM Entertainment announced that they will be taking legal action against any malicious comments made against not only Giselle but the other members of Aespa as well. They previously released a statement saying, "Those who practice in creating malicious rumors and write fake news article are guilty of defamation. Spreading such malicious rumors is clearly illegal and we will be taking strict legal action against those who do so."

However, despite their statement, the rumors made against Giselle continue to go viral with Korean netizens, and many continue to express their disdain for the idol.
Giselle is a Korean-Japanese idol under SM Entertainment. Her father is Japanese and her mother is Korean. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan. On Tuesday, Nov. 17, Giselle debuted with Aespa.
Aespa recently debuted with "Black Mamba". Their debut music video is currently the fastest debut music video to garner over 10 million views on YouTube.
