The global interest in SM's rookie group's debut can be seen after the music video of "Black Mamba" reached more than 20 million views as of 6 p.m. KST on Nov. 18, just a day after it was posted. Although YouTube has not yet confirmed the official 24-hour view count, this seems to be a new record for a K-Pop group's debut music video.

YouTube previously announced that ITZY's "DALLA DALLA" is the most-viewed debut MV in the first 24 hours. TXT's "Crown" MV had a higher real-time view count, but YouTube later revealed that the boy group's music video reach 15.1 million views, while ITZY's had 17.1 million.

In addition to this, the monster rookie broke the record of being the fastest debut music video to hit 10 million views. "Black Mamba" MV reached such a view count in just 9 hours following its release. TXT's "Crown" previously held the record as its MV achieved 10 million views in 13 hours.

Aespa's debut single "Black Mamba" is a powerful dance track with a synth sound, a strong bass, and an addictive hook. Yoo Young Jin was responsible for the song's lyrics, which tells about the unique world of Aespa where "Black Mamba" acts as the villain that threatens the world and intervenes with the connection of Aespa members and their respective "ae" avatars.

The rookie girl group even received praises from Reels Corporation, an independent Australian film distributor, as the members were able to display the colors of SM Entertainment clearly. Also, an official from SM said that they would have a greater impact on the international market through Aespa.

SM's monster rookie Aespa is composed of four girls: Korean members Winter and Karina, Chinese member Ningning, and Japanese member Giselle. The band's name features the character "æ" that symbolizes "avatar x experience" and the term "aspect." It means that the girl group will be able to experience a new world through their avatar counterparts. The word "aspect" also signifies that the members have numerous various sides.

In other news, Aespa is scheduled to make its debut performance of "Black Mamba" on Nov. 19 at 6:00 p.m. KST. It will be broadcast through the group's official YouTube channel. SM Entertainment shared that the debut stage will include AR (augmented reality) features and high-level camerawork to create a fantasy-like setting to show off Aespa's dynamic performance.

Congratulations to Aespa for their successful debut!
