MAMAMOO's junior group PURPLE K!SS will launch two tracks ahead of its debut.
On Nov. 19, the entertainment agency RBW announced that their new girl group, PURPLE K!SS, will release two pre-debut singles within this year before the band makes its official debut early next year. The label also revealed that the song will be revealed on Nov. 26.
PURPLE K!SS also uploaded a schedule plan for its first pre-debut single, which is titled "My Heart Skip a Beat," through its official social media accounts on Nov. 18. According to the schedule, the upcoming girl group will sequentially drop individual and group concept photos, a spoiler content video, and a performance video teaser starting with the digital single cover release on Nov. 19.
It can be noticed that only six names of PURPLE K!SS members are written on the schedule for "My Heart Skip a Beat." This is because the group's youngest member, Swan, is currently on a temporary hiatus due to health issues.
What's more interesting about the schedule for "My Heart Skip a Beat" is that the plan for the second pre-debut single of RBW's new girl group can be seen on the other side. However, the details are blurred out. Also, its title is not yet unveiled.
PURPLE K!SS, previously called 365 practice, is the first girl group of RBW after six years since MAMAMOO's debut in 2014. It is made up of seven members, namely Park Ji Eun, Na Go Eun, Yuki, Ireh, Chaein, Doxie, and Swan. Park Ji Eun and Na Go Eun were former participants in the survival reality show "Produce 48".
Meanwhile, Doxie, also known as Jang Eun Song, previously competed in JTBC's reality program "MIXNINE." In addition, Chaein or Lee Chae Young was a contestant in another survival reality show, particularly SBS's "K-Pop Star" in seasons one and three.
MAMAMOO's junior group, PURPLE K!SS is described to be a versatile and talented girl group with outstanding vocal and dancing skills, plus members excel in writing lyrics, composition, and choreography creation. The name of the band conveys the idea that the group will transmit love to many people through various colors of music.
The introduction of the PURPLE K!SS started on July 20 when a debut trailer showing a logo and photos of the members were posted on the group's official SNS. Following this, striking photos and short videos featuring each member were revealed. The clips showcased the girls' impressive vocal, dance, and rap skills. Later on, another debut trailer showing the whole group was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of PURPLE K!SS.
Ahead of the official introduction and debut, RBW's new girl group members have been revealing their talents and alluring personalities by posting several cover videos and self-produced content on their YouTube channel. In particular, PURPLE K!SS became famous for covering the 2019 hit song "gogobebe" of their labelmate MAMAMOO. This lead to high expectations for its official debut in the K-Pop industry in early 2021.
Meanwhile, the group's first pre-debut single, "Make Heart Skip a Beat," is set to be released on Nov. 26 at 6:00 p.m. KST.
